About vets in Havering

Havering has two vets that stay open through the night, one in Upminster and one at Rom Valley Way in Romford. Not every practice sends its clients to them, though. Some use services outside the borough, in Wanstead or Epping.
Help with vet bills
PDSA's Romford pet hospital is on Danes Road in Rush Green. You can use it if you live in its catchment area and get certain benefits. Treatment is free for one pet on means-tested Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support or Universal Credit with the housing element, and low cost on several other benefits. PDSA's website will check whether your address qualifies. At night, its Romford clients are seen at the 24-hour vet at Rom Valley Way.
If you have a cat and you're on benefits, or your household income is under £25,000, the C4 scheme will neuter and microchip it for £10. It has partner vets in Harold Hill, Collier Row, Harold Wood and Romford.
Choosing a practice
Before you register, ask where the practice sends emergencies at night. It could be one of the two in the borough, or somewhere further away.
