Help with vet bills
Celia Hammond Animal Trust runs a clinic at 151-153 Barking Road, Canning Town. It's for owners who can't afford private fees and don't qualify for help elsewhere, and there's no catchment area. Your pet must be neutered or going to be neutered. The clinic does routine and emergency work. Call 020 7474 8811. Out of hours, the answerphone message tells you what to do.
Blue Cross's animal hospital in Victoria covers E6, E7, E12, E13, E15 and E16. You have to live in one of those postcodes and be on certain benefits. There's a consultation fee, you re-register every 12 months, and all the pets living with you can be registered.
The nearest PDSA hospital is in Bow. Whether you qualify depends on your postcode and the benefits you receive, so check on PDSA's website before going.
